Amaranth in the USA

The Amaranth Institute’s geographical home, to date most of its members have been US citizens as have many of the Board Members: including current co-Presidents Matthew Blair (pictured right) and Paul Galewski.

At the 2022 Amaranth Institute Conference, which had it’s presencial base in Tennessee but was also a pandemic-inspired video conference event, a number of active members purveyed their wares, including our long-serving Treasurer, Walt Somner, who presented Soil Management Choices, Amaranth Qualities, and Implications for Human Health.

Other US-specific papers presented included Challenges and Potention Benefits of Growing Vegetable Amaranth in SE USA by Board Member Dr. Louis Jackai at the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
