David Brenner is the Curator of the amaranth gemplasm collection at the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station in Ames, Iowa, where he manages over 3,000 accessions of amaranth and some other crops. The seeds are distributed world-wide free of charge, for research. The amaranth collection includes grain, vegetable, ornamental, and wild types. David is a plant collector, a botanist, and has a small amaranth enhancement breeding effort. His Master’s degree is from the University of Oregon. He is also a Past-President of the Amaranth Institute.
